Lonely Cathedral

On the dull tidal beach the downed cathedral hunkers. Concrete, floatstone and jaspis sinking into the sand, but not yet. Not today.

  1. Metal-handed preacher stands on a midden and cries, “the end! the crystal ship! the fools!”
  2. Noodle seller with hooch on the side.
  3. Strawheads trading ivory and furs.
  4. Rusting metal gulls slowly winding down.
  5. Rat urchins attempt to rob you.
  6. Green monks, merchants, cog flower acolytes.

making the world a more level-headed place

Darta’s sapsuckers groaned in fear and ran for the crater pen. One squirted half-fermented juices over her new shoes as it fled. Darta put down her euphoric and squinted up at the brick sky. There. The spiky one they called Man With Flagrant Eggplant. Bursts of stolen sunfire belched from cracks in its black skin. Again and again. Odd.

Then the brick sky lit up, neon blue, as sunfire erupted from the side of the Man.

Environment Walks With Him

In a city of angels, each angel forever bears a fragile, wonderful biome for ever with them in their suit. Safe, protected, pure and inviolate, never changed by admixture or dilution. The angels speak in pulses of high-frequency radio waves repeating to each other how terrific and tremendous and hugely complex their internal environments are.

The Bae Ship Outpost Mugalu

The Baeship Outposts were popular targets for Spheremonkey thralls in the years after the Days of Ragged Rainbows. Many BOs built bulstone crenellations and additional internal defenses, and sometimes even external walls, while the BUL oyster secreters still functioned. Some even became oases of pre-rainbow cultivation if they were near uncompromised water sources.
