Hello Good Humans!
We're back! That is to say, wizardthieffighter.com is back.
It's been a bit of a hiatus. Between the ongoing giant project (Our Golden Age) and the ongoing tiny projects (small children), I just couldn't handle the hassle and, frankly, the expense of maintaining my wordpress site(s) on siteground. Over the years the host went from approachable and affordable to a money-extraction engine with finicky bespoke systems and eventually a shift to AI support that was just painful. I'd meant to leave already at the beginning of 2025, but I just didn't have the headspace to even contemplate it, so I extended it for the shortest period possible: 12 months. This January, I decided that letting the site go dark for a while was better than putting things off for another year.
So here we are, back from the dark.
The quiet time also let me re-evaluate how to use this site. When I first made wizardthieffighter.com, back in 2015 or 2016, I had no books published to my name and no very clear idea of what I wanted to do. Now, time having had its wily way, I've got a number of books to my name and a pretty clear idea of where I want to go forward.
And that's why the new site is a shopify site. After all, if I'm making books, why not also have a place to sell them directly without charging a fee? ||After-service not included.||
What We Got Here
I've put up my big three books, and two of my smaller works: UVG, VLG (Vastlands Guidebook), OGA (Our Golden Age), Longwinter (bundled), and Witchburner. I'll put up the rest of my works slowly over the next few weeks.
Crucially, the Vastlands Guidebook is available as a free pdf. No strings. No emails harvested. Nothing.
You just go to the product page and, if I got things right, the 168-page fully-illustrated book should be yours for the enjoyment.
Meanwhile, my slightly* delayed []quel to the Ultraviolet Grasslands, Our Golden Age, is finally proofread and, pending some last layout details, going to the printers for its test print soon. If you're inclined to get in hardcover, you can preorder it here. If you want to see the proofing pdf right now, you can feast your eyes on it by becoming a hero of the stratometaship at patreon. And if you're fine just waiting, don't worry, I'll talk loudly about the pdf being available and for sale once everything is ready. Just look for my handle wizardthieffighter on the social medias.
Where We Go Next
Besides the other works getting hosted here—and you won't believe how slow I is at getting all the little pictures and blurbs and texts and fiddly forms filled out with these web shop things—I'm streamlining a few things.
1) I'm embracing the WTF acronym. I've used it long enough, and I don't have enough time to futz around with multiple brands. So, I'm rebranding the game engine formerly known as Synthetic Dream Machine to When Time Fades. Yep. I'm going the whole backronym hog. That's what also explains the new logo. The ghost machine, if you will. That will get its own blog post.
2) I'll repost some of my most popular blog posts from the previous blog(s) here. This won't be a verbatim repost, more a salvage operation and reinterpretation for modern audiences. Nah, I'm joking. It's basically going to be a repost.
3) I'll basically cross-post ongoing gaming / story / illustration work on my social media, and keep this blog for posts that stick and for product and production news.
Till Next Time
Right! Got the website working again (I hope!).
Now to get the Golden Box finished. Fingers crossed: next few weeks.
Wishing you good fortune and biscuits,
—Luka, Seoul, July 2026

Happy Newblogmas, Luka! I love the color of the new site, for what it’s worth. Very calming, a little mysterious. Nice job! I don’t mind the switch on naming conventions, I think it’s nice to see things sort of wrapped together that way under the name-brand.
Hope for all the best on the new book-selling venture here!
